For all the cosmic witches out there, or just witches and pagans who are interested in what’s going on in the cosmos, here is a list of June 2017’s important astrological events. All times listed are in EST (Eastern Standard) and should be adjusted for your own time zone. Please note that this list is not even close to being exhaustive, but compiled by me to list events that would be of magickal importance. This information is great to copy into your Book of Shadows if you maintain one; I hope that you find it helpful.

How to Use This Information
Planetary movement information can be helpful when performing magick, as well as looking at your own mood, or when getting into the deeper aspects of astrology. For example, Mars in Cancer is generally not seen as a good combination since Mars is so strong-tempered and Cancer is so protective. However, magick that works on aggressively protecting those closest to you would be great for this odd couple.
Mercury rules communication, and its movement into Cancer indicates that it may finally be time to have a talk with ‘that’ family member or close friend.
A Neptune retrograde is long – this one ends November 22, 2017 – so its effects will be felt more strongly near the beginning and the end. Neptune rules dreams and psychic intuition, so this retrograde can be a mixed blessing. Intuitives may be benefitted by a decrease in psychic ‘chatter’ and increased clarity.
The Sun entering Cancer is the start of Cancer season, the beginning of that zodiac sign’s time of the year, which of course means a Cancer New Moon.
Information on the moon cycle can be helpful when planning rituals for either the new or full moon. For example, looking at the chart above, you know that, before going full, the moon will be in Sagittarius from 6:59 PM the night of the 7th, and stay there until 9:10 AM on the 9th; that means you can charge magickal tools overnight on either the 7th or the 8th, but not on the 6th when the moon will be void all night. I will cover this information in my monthly full and new moon posts as well, but I thought it would be helpful to have it all in one place nice and early for planning purposes. For more detail in the moon’s sign changes throughout the month and void-of-course times I highly recommend Llewellyn’s 2017 Witches’ Datebook or Witches’ Calendar, both of which have all of that information in detail. Here I only noted the times surrounding the full and new moons that witches might find relevant.
